Dr. Sharp was born in Lithonia, Georgia and grew up in Covington, Georgia. He attended Emory at 1964. Upon graduation he married his sweetheart and joined the United State Air Force where he was a Captain in the Veterinary Corp. He then worked in a private veterinary practice in Macon Georgia for four years before opening Conyers Animal Hospital in 1970.

Dr. and Mrs. Sharp’s roots are well entrenched in Conyers and Rockdale County. His years of service to the community include the Rockdale County Board of Health, the Board of Directors of Main Street Bank, and the Rockdale County Jaycees. He has served on the Board of Snapping Shoals EMC since 1978. Hew was also one of the founders of the Rockdale Humane Society, and served on the board for a number of years.

He and Mrs. Sharp have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. In his free time Dr. Sharp enjoys fishing, hunting and golf.
